Over 100 Years of Craftsmanship
With a legacy dating back to 1921, GearGrid—formerly known as Wire Specialties and later Mid-Minnesota Wire—began its journey by specializing in custom retail displays and wire forms. In 1997, GearGrid co-owner and volunteer firefighter, Mike Boyer, designed a durable and well-ventilated locker system for the proper storage of his department’s turnout gear. Recognizing a wider industry need for improved firefighting gear storage, GearGrid launched the product in 1998.
Over 100 Years of Craftsmanship
Over the next decade, GearGrid solidified its position as the market leader of the firefighting equipment storage industry through continuous innovation and customer focus. In 2002, they strengthened that position by expanding their product line to solve the broader storage challenges faced by fire departments, including hose and cylinder systems, workstations, and general equipment storage.
